Newcastle right-back Kieran Trippier has hit back at Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for criticizing the team’s approach to play at Anfield on Wednesday night.
“Salika Dong” scored a goal in the first half from Alexander Isak. But the Reds equalized from Roberto Firmino after an hour. Until the 90+8 minute stoppage time, Fabio Carvalho scored the winning goal for the team to win 2-1 narrowly grabbing three points UFABET.
Klopp has criticized the visitor’s play for being “ugly” delayed. But Trippier has responded to the German boss’s remarks.
“(Time delay) is something the referee controls,” Trippier told local newspaper The Shields Gazette. “We came to Anfield. We plan our games. So if (Klopp) wants to complain about the delay. The referees and staff must be in control.”
“Going on the pitch the way we do. We know we can fight them on every side. They may have more possession of the ball. But I feel that we can handle it. You can see how they played a lot of long balls and how we dealt with it. Many of their long balls didn’t work. We try to deal especially with Van Dijk.”
“I feel like we’ve done a great job and this is football. We conceded a goal at the last second you can say. But in reality it was two and a half minutes that were too much from five minutes of stoppage time.”
“It was very difficult to concede a goal in the 98th minute. We couldn’t have knocked the result off the track because we had a big game at hand. It shows how far we’ve come.”
Newcastle’s next match will be at home to Crystal Palace, while Liverpool will visit Everton.
